Inocente! Starts Gaining Momentum in Chile

Audrey McGinn, a 3L at California Western School of Law is interning at the Public Defenders Office in Concepción, Chile and reported on some of the progress with Inocente!, the Innocence Project in Chile:

Just as a little update, last week Waldo Ortega Jarpa (Defensor and Professor) invited me to give a lecture at the Universidad Catolicahere in Concepcion to a Criminal Law class. Brooks, I used a lot of your powerpoint from your DNA presentation 3 years ago, then added in some more slides about what we are trying to do here in Chile and the problems I have encountered here.

About 70 students and professors showed up and the lecture lasted about an hour and a half or so! It went super well and people have even commented on Waldo's website about how useful and motivating it was to them as future lawyers.

Iam even a little surprised at all response I've gotten. So they invited me to go to the Universidad de Talca in July for another class. We're spreading the word!
