Generally, bring the clothes you require to last for about two weeks, so that you can travel lightly. There are laundry facilities in most apartments and plenty of lavanderÃas around Providencia where you can leave your laundry to be cleaned. Remember, baggage requirements have become very strict on airlines, so the less you bring along, the better. If you are going to be interning in a law firm, a government agency or other formal legal environment, pack 1-2 business suits, and no more.
You will probably want to pack a nice outfit for any office parties or for any special occasion that will arise. Bring a lot of layers, especially in winter. Pack a travel bag as well such as a small backpack for outof- town trips. That being stated, you can buy pretty much anything you need in Chile. However, if there is a specific brand of something that you cannot live without, whether it is your favorite brand of deodorant or your favorite type of hot sauce, make sure you pack enough to last you for your stay. You probably can`t find it in Chile or it will cost a lot more money to purchase.
As for documents, make sure that you also have photocopies of your driver’s license and passport on hand, should you lose them.
