ACCESO begins works for its own Plan Colombia

James Cooper, director of Proyecto ACCESO, recently met with Colombian President Alvaro Uribe Velez after his meeting with U.S. President George Bush in Crawford, Texas.

Cooper and President Uribe discovered that they had both undertaken their respective graduate work in legal studies in England, although the Colombian President studied at Oxford University while the Canadian lawyer studied at Cambridge University - eternal competitors! Luckily the Secret Service spirited away President Uribe before the two re-enacted the famed boat races of Oxbridge.

Colombia is undertaking its own legal reforms, bringing about changes in its criminal procedures for more transparent and equitable justice.
