Proyecto ACCESO is promoting the rule of law throughout the Americas.

The ACCESO team works with all the sectors in the administration of justice. We are judges, prosecutors, public defenders, legal educators, and journalists. We are building new systems for conflict resolution that are fair, efficient and transparent.

By training legal innovators, together we are srengthening the rule of law in our Hemisphere.

ACCESO Director’s Message – 2006

Dear Friends:

What a year! 2005 was filled with wonderful events for ACCESO as we expanded our product line and our programs throughout Latin America.

California Western School of Law and ACCESO launches NAFTA Summer Program for June-July 2005

On June 6, 2005, California Western School of Law, a member of the Consortium for Innovative Legal Education, will be launching a four-week intensive summer program on the laws of the Free Trade Agreement between Canada, Mexico and the United States.

Now a decade old, the North American Free Trade Agreement, linked together the economies of these three trading partners and formed the largest trading bloc in the world. It was also an experiment in combining legal cultures as two common law countries merged economic relations and legal structures with a civil law country with a history of Napoleonic-styled codes.

Classes for academic credit (6 credit units in total for American Bar Association accredited law schools) can be obtained. Foreign students are welcome as well. The NAFTA Summer program will take place in the San Diego/Tijuana region from June 6 to June 28, 2005 (inclusively) and then move to Toronto where classes run from July 5 to 13, 2005 (inclusively).

A Canadian debut for ACCESO Sessions will take place on Saturday, July 9th in downtown Toronto.
