ACCESO Sessions "Street Cred" Initiative

Despite some government and industry efforts, intellectual property piracy continues to run rampant around the Hemisphere.

Fresh ideas and schemes to better the situation are required now more than ever. With artists’ rights getting trampled, music companies’ profits shrinking, inadequate regulation of fraud and piracy, and public interest in protecting corporate interests on the wane, a new idea for licensing music to consumers is required.

Lawrence Lessig of Stanford Law School and Wired Magazine have experimented with free CDs and Creative Commons Licenses. Click here. U2 has teamed up with Apple to release the U2 I-pod. Click here. ACCESO Sessions is adding its voice to the solutions department.

We are looking to create new forms of licensing arrangements and profit-sharing schemes for artists to take better control of their artforms and distribution and also see more money in the process. ACCESO Sessions’ "Street Cred" (Street Credibility) initiative shall be launched in 2005 and serve to function as a model for future business models in the distribution of digital entertainment and education. We will take on the pirates head on but with a difference – consumers get a licensed, legitimate products, artists get paid for their intellectual property, sales are recorded, and tax is paid. All that from the street.

Look for a concert tour and promotional events in January 2005 in Santiago de Chile and Valparaiso. ACCESO Sessions Volume 5 – Live from Muelle Baron will be released in early 2005 with a set of concerts scheduled for Chile.

This tour coincides with the implementation of the criminal procedure reform in the metropolitan region of Santiago, which is scheduled for the middle of next year! DJ Fat Pablo, MC Chico Claudio and Rockstar Inc (Andrew Muroff) will join together again for these very special events.
